Oatmeal is made from hulled oat grains that have been milled, steel-cut, or rolled. Oatmeal is low in fats and calories. A source of unique fibers called beta glucans that are good to help reduce serum cholesterol. Oatmeal is also rich in thiamin, magnesium, phosphorous, zinc, manganese, selenium and iron.
